A custom mix to inspire both true lovers of the genre and also the more casual beat-fiend, Rokwel’s prowess behind the decks is proudly on display on this exclusive Truth&Rights download. Featuring the music of the following artists, the D.J. offers a bit of insight as to why he chose each track:
- Kaze & 9th Wonder- Blood Is Thicker Than Oil
- De La Soul- OOH Remix (Cysko Style) “I placed the ‘Ohh…’ lyrics with a beat from a Jean Grae single.
- Nas-It Ain’t Hard To Tell Remix (Cysko Style) “I put three different versions of the song (the Dangermouse remix, the original and original remix) with the ‘Get By” Instrumental by Kanye West and Talib Kweli. I ended up mixed all the intro music around the track… before and after. I also incorporated Giant Panda and Lightheaded snippets.”
- Giant Panda-Always Dope “This group is really ill and have a song called 3rd party (Fly School Reunion), about how whack the government is. Really, check this group out for true school hip hop. The next selection is off my new mix “Some Serious Gourmet Shit.”
- Sage Francis- Needle (Produced by Buddy Peace and of the Cd “Sick Of Wasting…”)
- Evidence-Mr. Slow Flow (Cysko Remix) “I placed the lyrics to a beat called “Circle’s” by The Crime Mobb. On the original track, Dj Revolution did the cuts but on this remix I handled them all.”
- Cold World- 3 The Hardway (A.V.I.U.S. , Es-Nine, Cysko Rokwel) Off of our album, “Set in Stone.”
