Manifesto
The core notion of Truth&Rights is rooted amidst the independently minded; between the symbiotic relationship that exists amongst those who use their talents to illuminate the dark and those who look to these figures to provide personal, social, and political dialogues in both their lives and their communities.
Realizing the potential impact of an informed expressionist, it becomes apparent that this relationship must be treated with the highest of regard: A conversation between artist and audience, pen and potential reader, instrument and willing ear.
We now live in an age in which consumer-based economies and the organizations that sustain them are reaching into even the purest of expressive mediums. While a certain level of commercial zeal is necessary for a modern-day expressionist to derive an income capable of sustaining their craft, an issue arises when corporate-assistance comes at the expense of unadulterated thought and its subsequent creative extensions.
It’s with these concerns in mind that The Truth&Rights Collective is laying the groundwork for the creation of communities that partner like-minded artists, writers and academics with an audience receptive to the notion of independently-minded thought and the dialogue and action that are created therein.
In combination with our online publications, The Truth&Rights Volume and RootSpeak, our organization seeks to aide a paradigm shift in a mainstream audience’s perceived value as it relates to the worlds of content-based thought and art; loosely defined by those who place a higher value on challenging their audience with new song, notion, and word rather than relying on age-old mechanisms appealing to the smallest common denominator of thought.
To this end, a need has arisen for community-based Symposiums of progressive minds and media. Our Collective regards these gatherings as essential in not only providing the means for our audience to find their voice in the creative process but also to provide safe quarters for affiliated artistic, political, and social entities who wish enter into dialogues with one another while producing new projects and confronting the difficult questions of our age.
As a not-for-profit Collective of influence, we exist to ensure that those who identify with our ideal are constantly evolving to higher levels of dialogue and informed thought. Truth&Rights maintains no corporate affiliation or responsibility. We hold fast to our independence as a central tenant of our mission to ensure that the ideals contained within this Manifesto are not jeopardized. We look to the First Amendment of the United States Constitution as a preamble and guarantee of our ability to assemble under this expressed vision.
In joining this movement there is no requisite other than an eager mind and an open heart willing to explore themes deeper than what mainstream media and corporate structure dictate as both important and viable. In keeping with the good faith inherent in each of us as individuals, we bear the responsibility as our brother’s keeper and we ask each other to set aside what has for so long kept us divided and incapable of instituting mass artistic, social, and political change.
