The Truth&Rights Volume is not your average publication. In fact, we’re quite proud to say that we are treading ground on which perhaps there were no footprints before. With each subsequent release, a simple notion seems to manifest itself more and more in our acceptance of the fact that perhaps, we need not be like anyone else to have a vantage point that is just as, if not more, inspired in it’s reach and scope.

I’ll bet you’re the creative sort, aren’t you? If you are reading/viewing/listening to the Truth&Rights VOL2009.02, then you’re probably a writer, musician, artist or a creative thinker of some other stripe. We creative types wear that badge proudly. We secretly hope that our creativity sets us apart (and above) our fellow humans who choose to focus on the more mundane aspects of life.

Here’s a quick reality check: If you’re so creative, are you having more fun with your life than the creatively challenged people around you?

In fact, Ted Kennedy was at times a deeply flawed man.

But in the days since his passing, we have been reminded of what it means to be an absolved man. One whose greater legacy outlives the mistakes that he sought so dearly to overcome.

It’s the social epidemic you haven’t heard about: reckless proliferation and abandonment of blogs. Unlike the other bad ideas you’ve had, the blog is a digital capsule incapable of being tied to concrete sleepers and pitched off a bridge. An estimated 95 percent of blogs are abandoned in the first 120 days of operation, leaving host networks to clean up the littered blogosphere, and many more to wonder where monsoon season went, otherwise parched of thoughts.

My Name is Yonnas, and I am obsessed with my own songs. At this point, I have already established who I am to you, so let’s not dawdle. When I say obsessed with my own songs, I mean that in a good way. I have perhaps written hundreds if not thousands of songs since I first began my artistry when I was sixteen, I am twenty six now, and I swear to you, only recently have these begun to mean anything, to me, or anyone else.

Some days, I wonder if I’m living in the sixties, even though I was born in the seventies. It seems that our modern day world is still attached to the conditioned thinking of the past. While humanity has evolved technologically and otherwise, we still seem to hold on to things that hinder our true potential as human beings. In 2009, America elected President Barack Obama. Many foolishly believed that America had evolved beyond its dark history, yet the problems of our past still persist.

I started writing this out of necessity, because the standard explanation of self is getting hard to manage in everyday conversations with those met – and met for good reason – but with whom the good reasons often cannot be shared because so many elements must be exchanged with the counterparts for protocol, and for safety. And because context of one’s self and work are increasingly difficult to properly deliver in conversations that are more frequently shared in commutes than over dinner or drinks. So, here I provide you with elements that include some pleasantries and some of the substance of what I do. This way it can be referenced later, and not repress what else the conversations can be between us.
